Superior Insurance MG has been involved in the insurance industry for over 25 years. We are a group of agency owners ourselves and we understand what consumers need is the ability to choose from multiple insurance carriers without having to call multiple insurance agents. Superior Insurance MG is unique in that our company allows our agents to sell insurance products through various outlets. Our partnerships with a wide range of carriers gives us the ability to be more than competitive with captive insurance agents and close more sales than our competition. With a group of over 40 agencies we are expanding are reach across the state of North Carolina and are moving in to the southeast. We’re ready to strengthen our position by expanding our Exclusive Agency Force, which we believe is the best in the business.
Our Founders
Rick Ryan Pegram II-Owner-Ryan Pegram was born in Columbus Ohio and moved to North Carolina at the age of 4. Ryan graduated from Western Carolina University in 1998 with a degree in Business Administration and went to work for his Father, Rick, shortly after. Ryan, with the help of his Father, Brother, and Partner, continue the work of expanding the agency group which is now 40 offices. Ryan has developed a proprietary insurance selling software program specifically used by Superior Insurance MG and has recently been put to use. The group, which encompasses over 40 agencies is the largest single group of independent agencies in North Carolina.
Derick James Pegram-Owner- Superior Insurance Group of NC, Inc., was born in Columbus Ohio and moved to North Carolina at the age of 1. He is a graduate of East Carolina University, with a degree in Criminal Justice. His agency located in Albemarle NC and is one of the Top Producing agencies in the Superior & Pegram and Associates Insurance Groups. His specialty is Auto and Motorcycle Insurance. He heads up the marketing strategy for the Superior Insurance group. Derick is married to Heather Pegram and they have two children, Max and Luke.
Matt G. Mitchell-Owner-Pegram-Mitchell Insurance of Charlotte NC is a Graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Business Administration. Matt and Ryan went to college and together along with Rick open his first Charlotte location in 2003. Matt has been a top producer for companies such as, GMAC and Instrust just to name a few winning back to back awards the past two years. Matt now has two offices in Charlotte and continues to be a maverick and innovator in the insurance industry. Before he opened his first office he worked as a highly decorated sales manager for Pfizer, where he meet his wife of five years, and Philip Morris. Matt was born and raised in Rutherfordton NC where his parents still live today.
